What we handle for physician practices

Clinical revenue is one thing. Ownership accounting is another.

Books that respect how physicians actually get paid and spend.

  • Practice entity vs. personal activityWe keep the practice books focused on the business you own—owner pay, staff payroll, and operating expenses—so personal activity doesn't blur the P&L.
  • S-Corp reasonable compensationOwner W-2 vs. distributions coded consistently so monthly statements support tax conversations.
  • Malpractice & insurance expense codingPremiums and related coverage land in predictable accounts—not a year-end scavenger hunt.
  • CME, travel & professional spendEducation and travel coded cleanly so deductible practice spend stays separable from personal.
  • Partnership / K-1 multi-owner awarenessGuaranteed payments, draws, and partner flows kept consistent when more than one owner is on the books.
  • Billing vs. collections timingERA/EFT deposits and patient portions categorized to bank reality—so the P&L isn’t a billing black box.
How it usually works / typical pain

Side gigs, entities, and deposits create fog fast.

Billing deposits vs. what you keep

ERA/EFT deposits, copays, and refunds can look like “income” without context. We categorize to the bank activity you control.

Multiple entities & mixed cards

PCs, management companies, and personal charges on practice cards need consistent treatment—or monthly numbers lose trust.

Personal and practice spend get mixed

Personal charges on the practice card—and the reverse—make it hard to trust the monthly numbers. Clean operating books make owner pay and tax conversations easier.

Associates, benefits & retirement

W-2 clinicians, staff payroll, and high-level retirement contributions should show up predictably for planning.

Industry FAQ

Before you get started.

Can you handle a PC plus a management company?

We bookkeep one business entity per monthly package. If you have multiple entities, we’ll talk through the right setup on a free intro call—often one package per entity, with clear ownership flows between them.

Do you replace our billing company?

No. We don’t process claims or patient billing. We keep the books from your bank, cards, and the detail you provide so financials stay accurate after money hits the account.

Can you keep owner pay and practice operations straight?

Yes. Practice books stay focused on the business you own—revenue, staff payroll, expenses, and owner salary vs. distributions. We’ll flag personal items that land on the practice books during monthly questions.

Is Complete the same as a tax return?

No. Complete adds ongoing business-owner tax planning using your books. S-Corp/partnership return preparation starts at $299 and is arranged after you’re on a bookkeeping plan.
