Dental practices · remote-first

Books that match how your practice actually runs.Production, collections, and owner pay—clear.

Done-for-you bookkeeping for dental practices—wherever you operate. Essentials $99/month.

Insurance adjustments, lab invoices, supply runs, associate payroll, and owner draws rarely land cleanly in a generic chart of accounts. We set the books up for how a dental office earns and spends—then keep them current every month.

What we handle for dental practices

Concrete bookkeeping work—not a generic small-business template.

Monthly books oriented to how dental offices actually move money.

  • Multi-provider payroll & owner drawsAssociate W-2 pay, hygienist payroll, and owner salary vs. distributions coded consistently.
  • Lab, supply & equipment spendLab fees, implant kits, supply vendors, and equipment loans/leases reconciled—not dumped into “misc.”
  • Hygiene vs. doctor production contextWe use production/collections context you share so PPO write-offs, refunds, and adjustments don’t blur cash reality.
  • Patient refunds & revenue hygieneRefunds and adjustments stay readable against collections so the P&L reflects what actually deposited.
  • S-Corp reasonable compensation awarenessOwner pay treatment kept consistent for S-Corp practices; tax structuring questions fit a CPA intro or Complete planning.
  • Year-end equipment planning hooksBonus depreciation / §179 timing conversations are easier when equipment and loan balances are already clean in the books.
How it usually works / typical pain

Busy chairs don’t automatically mean clear books.

Production looks strong; collections lag

PPO write-offs, patient portions, and refunds blur the P&L if everything is dumped into “sales.” We keep adjustments and cash collections readable.

Owner pay and personal charges mix

Owner salary vs. draws, associate payroll, and personal spend on the practice card are among the fastest ways dental books go sideways.

Lab and equipment bury margin

Without structure, lab invoices and equipment notes hide whether the month was profitable—or just busy.

Generic charts don’t fit dentistry

A bakery-style chart of accounts won’t help a lender, broker, or CPA. We structure income and expense for dental operations.

Industry FAQ

Before you get started.

Can you work with our practice management / banking exports?

Yes. We start from your bank and credit card activity and the information you provide about how money moves—insurance deposits, patient payments, lab vendors, and payroll. Practice management production reports are useful context; the books stay tied to what actually hit the bank.

Do you track hygiene vs. doctor production inside the ledger?

Monthly packages deliver firm-level financials. Production splits are useful context from your PM reports; we don’t replace your practice management system. If you need custom schedules, we can discuss scope on an intro call.

What about S-Corp reasonable compensation?

We keep owner salary and distributions recorded consistently. Setting or reviewing a reasonable-compensation figure is a tax conversation—ideal for a free CPA intro or Complete plan planning.

Is Essentials enough for a multi-provider office?

Essentials fits simpler banking and lower monthly volume. Multi-provider offices with payroll, equipment loans, and several cards usually land on Plus or Complete. A free 15-minute intro with a CPA helps you choose without pressure.
